Briggs and Stratton Intek Twin Series 7 and 8 Vertical Engine Spare Parts

This series of engines are usually to be found on ride-on lawnmowers and garden tractors but can
also be used on other high spec applications.

They have the two cylinders arranged in a "V" orientation at approx 45 degrees from each other.
The spark plugs are fitted to the side of each rocker cover.

The air filter is either a flat cartridge that resembles a handbag or a round cylindrical cartridge
Both can be found at the front of the engine under a plastic cover.

Under the air filter is a double intake manifold forming a rounded "W"

These engine are usually labelled as "Intek Twin" with a HP rating, "Series 7" or "Series 8". The series 7 and 8 usually
have a 4 digit number starting with the series number e.g. "8240", "8250"
The Model, Type and Code numbers are stamped into one of the rocker cover sides
The Model begins with either 40 or 44
